Soldiers from The Highlanders, 4th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland (4 Scots), have paraded through Inverness.

A large crowd gathered to watch more than 300 soldiers who have returned from active duty in Afghanistan.

The battalion had served a tour of duty in Helmand province.

After parading through the streets to the sound of the pipes and drums, the soldiers went to Inverness town house for a civic reception.
