Woman who admitted causing a biker's death fined

A woman who admitted causing the death of a biker by careless driving has been fined £1,500 and banned from driving for three years.

Caran Wortley, 37, of Inverness, had earlier pleaded guilty to turning her vehicle into the path of Darren Donaldson, 27, also of Inverness.

The incident happened on Barn Church Road in Culloden on 18 May.

Sentencing at Inverness Sheriff Court had been deferred for community service and social work reports.
