Police have charged a second man over the death of 16-year-old Liam Aitchison on the Isle of Lewis.

Liam's body was found in a derelict property in the Steinish area on 29 November, a week after he had been reported missing.

Police say a man, aged 20, has been charged in connection with Liam's murder. A 21-year-old man was charged earlier and is being held in custody.

Northern Constabulary said a report would be made to the Procurator Fiscal.

The teenager who was originally from Uist, was last seen in Stornoway's Anderson Road area at about 21:00 GMT on 22 November.

His family issued a statement last week, telling of their "heartbreak" at his death.

They have urged anyone with information to contact the police.

At the time of the family's appeal to the public, Det Ch Insp Kenny Anderson said there had already been a "very positive" response from the community in Stornoway.
