Extra funds for Scottish mountain rescue teams

The Mountain Rescue Committee of Scotland has been given increased annual funding from the Scottish government.

The grant has been increased from £300,000 to £312,000.

A one-off grant of £12,000 has also been awarded by the government to go towards paying for communications equipment.

The Mountain Rescue Committee of Scotland will distribute the money to its 27 affiliated rescue teams.
