Police name Caledonian canal car plunge victim

Police have named the man who died after his car plunged into the Caledonian Canal last week.

He was 43-year-old Fraser Robertson from the Inverness area.

His body was recovered by police divers after members of the public reported seeing a 4X4 dropping from the road into the water.

Police and firefighters were assisted by RNLI Kessock lifeboat crew and a helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth as they searched the Muirtown locks.

Divers located the body late on Wednesday evening.
