Unwanted Highland Council computers to be recycled

Up to 10,000 redundant local authority computers are to be recycled instead of being dumped.

The hard drives on the devices from Highland Council will be wiped and stripped down and the parts used to rebuild up to 3,500 machines.

The council's IT contractor Fujitsu is investing £300,000 in the project, which will see recycled computers given to community groups.

Forres-based social enterprise ReBOOT will process the equipment.
