Highlands man accused of dangerous driving

A man has been accused of causing a crash which left a female passenger in his car permanently disfigured.

Lee Stuart, 18, of Balloch, Inverness, is alleged to have lost control of his car after overtaking three vehicles before colliding with an oncoming car.

Three people in the other car were severely injured in last year's crash on the Inverness to Beauly road.

Wheelchair-user Mr Stuart has denied the allegations.

At Inverness Sheriff Court he was accused of driving dangerously and at excessive speed.

Trial was set for 6 February with a preliminary hearing on 23 January.
