Highland councillors vote to freeze council tax

Highland councillors have voted for a council tax freeze for 2012/13.

A special meeting of the full council was asked to set the tax for band D at £1,163.

Councillors were also be asked to agree to the council's revenue budget for the next 12 months, which has been set at £602m.

Western Isles Council - Comhairle nan Eilean Siar - will set its budget and council tax levels at a meeting on 17 February.
