Driver who died after crash at Dingwall recycling site named

A 72-year-old man who died in hospital after his car crashed into a lamppost at a recycling centre in Dingwall has been named by police.

Gavin Scobie, from Beauly, was found to be unconscious following the crash which happened at about 11:20 on Wednesday.

He was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where he later died.

Officers from Northern Constabulary launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
