National Trust for Scotland to hold first local assembly

The National Trust for Scotland (NTS) will hold the first in a series of its new local assemblies next month.

The meetings between trust staff, members and communities aim to help improve the running of the charity.

They are also part of wider changes to NTS following a review published in 2010 that recommended a revamp to make the organisation "fit for purpose".

Culloden Battlefield Centre, near Inverness, will hold the first assembly on 14 April.

It will be hosted by NTS chairman Sir Kenneth Calman.
