Inverness man Robert MacGillivray accused of stabbing Mark Hunter

A 49-year-old man has appeared in court accused of murdering another man in Inverness.

Mark Hunter, 37, was found dead at Glenshiel Place at about 10:00 on Friday.

Robert MacGillivray, of Inverness, appeared at the city's sheriff court accused of striking Mr Hunter with a knife, or a similar instrument.

Mr MacGillivray made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

It was alleged that he murdered Mr Hunter on Thursday, or Friday.

Mr MacGillivray appeared in private before Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood.

The case was continued for further examination.
