A concert by boy band JLS later will mark the start of what police expect to be a busy weekend of events in the Highlands.

JLS will appear at the first of four performances being staged in the Northern Meeting Park close to Inverness city centre.

Status Quo will play on Friday, Runrig on Saturday and Jools Holland on Sunday.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Celtic also meet in the city on Saturday.

Northern Constabulary said roads around Aviemore were also expected to be very busy during the weekend's Thunder in the Glen Harley Davidson motorcycle event.

The police said people should leave plenty of time for journeys.
