Man airlifted after crash on A82 near Inverness

A man was airlifted to hospital after a two-vehicle crash on the A82 near Inverness.

It happened about one mile south of Dochfour at about 15:35 on Friday and involved a maroon Renault Megane and a black Vauxhall Astra.

Northern Constabulary said one of the vehicles ended up on its roof, leaving the driver with serious injuries.

Three people in the other vehicle, two adults and a child, received minor injuries.

The seriously injured man was taken by air ambulance to Raigmore Hospital. The others were taken by road.

The carriageway was closed for five hours while officers carried out investigations. Witnesses have been urged to come forward.
