Stornoway man jailed for indecent assault

A 61-year-old man has been jailed for three years for sex offences against three females, two of them when they were young girls.

Angus Mackay, of Stornoway, denied the allegations during a week-long trial at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

A jury found the former bakery driver guilty of three charges of indecent assault against three females.

He was also found guilty of two charges of indecency against two of them when they were aged between 12 and 16.

The allegations against the former church office-bearer dated from the 1980s to the mid-2000s.
