Abuse probe at Katie Kares respite care centre for children

Police are investigating allegations of abuse at a respite care centre in the Highlands which caters for children with special needs.

The privately-run Katie Kares at Torbreck on the outskirts of Inverness has closed temporarily while the claims are being investigated.

Northern Constabulary said a 59-year-old man was the subject of a child protection investigation.

A spokesman added that at this stage no-one had been charged.
