Man admits causing biker's death on A82

A 62-year-old motorist has admitted causing the death of an elderly motorcyclist while banned from driving and uninsured.

At Fort William Sheriff Court, Duncan Stewart pleaded guilty to the offence on the A82 between Spean Bridge and Fort William.

Charles Singleton, who was 74 and from Kettering, Northamptonshire, died after the collision at Achnabobane on 8 May.

Stewart, from Spean Bridge, is due to be sentenced on 17 January.

The crash happened only a few weeks before he was due to get his licence back following a 15 month ban.
