'Fair' online retailers will be praised, says minister
Online retailers and courier firms seen to be offering fair delivery charges to rural Scotland will be publicly praised, a minister has said.
Enterprise Minister Fergus Ewing made his comment after a summit on parcel delivery charges in Edinburgh.
It was held following consumer groups' criticism of some businesses' higher charges for delivering goods to remote and rural areas.
Some firms have also been accused of refusing to deliver to certain areas.
Mr Ewing said: "I will be meeting with individual companies over the coming months to discuss how they may improve."
He said firms that "responded positively" to calls for changes to delivery charges would be congratulated to alert consumers to those businesses.
