Inverness provost chains row case dropped

A provost will not face legal proceedings following claims he committed a breach of the peace during a row about ceremonial chains.

Police sent a report to the procurator fiscal after making inquiries into an alleged row between Provost Alex Graham and deputy Glynis Sinclair.

Northern Constabulary said the case against him had now been dropped.

Mrs Sinclair, who represents Culloden and Ardersier, later resigned from the deputy provost post.

Mr Graham said he was delighted with the decision.
