Three injured during Cairngorms avalanche

Three people suffered injuries during an avalanche in the Cairngorms.

They were part of an organised group to the west of the Sugarbowl Car Park in Speyside when the avalanche struck at about 14:00 on Friday.

Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team attended the scene.

One male casualty, described as "walking wounded", had a minor injury, while two females were taken to Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, treated for minor injuries and later released.
