Clive Dennier search: Police search continues near where car found

Police are continuing to search for a missing journalist in hills in the Knoydart area in the Western Highlands, near to where his car was found.

Clive Dennier's Volkswagen Polo was found west of Invergarry on Friday 29 March.

The 50-year-old had failed to turn up for work at the Strathspey and Badenoch Herald last Monday.

He had spoken of going hillwalking the previous weekend, but has not been seen since.

The search, around Knoydart Peninsula, Kinlochourn, Barrisdale and Glen Quoich, is being coordinated by the Highlands and Islands division of Police Scotland.

Glenelg, Kintail and Royal Air Force mountain rescue teams were involved in the operation, alongside the coastguard and police dog units.

Continued assistance

Skywatch had also provided assistance with with aerial searching.

A police spokesperson said the search teams had covered "significant areas of ground" in the last two days.

"We have also interviewed walkers coming into and out of the area.

"Unfortunately for Clive's family and friends, he has not been located.

"We are grateful for the continued assistance from all agencies and the public."
