Oliver Smith search: Sky Watch joins efforts on Skye

A civil air patrol organisation has joined the search on Skye for missing hillwalker Oliver Smith.

The 33-year-old, from Fife, failed to return from the Bla Bheinn area of the Cuillins as planned over the weekend.

Members of Sky Watch have been making flights over the island.

Police search dogs, Skye Mountain Rescue Team and coastguard personnel have resumed the search on land for Mr Smith.

Searches have been made since Sunday.

Mr Smith was described as being 5ft 7in, of slim build with short brown hair and facial stubble. He wears glasses and was wearing khaki trousers, a black jacket, black hat and was carrying a small blue/grey rucksack.

He is understood to have been planning to climb Blaven then descend via Loch Coruisk and follow the coastal path to Elgol.
