Molly McGregor Molly McGregor attends Resolis Primary on the Black Isle

A primary school pupil has been named Highland Young Musician of the Year.

Pianist Molly McGregor, 12, was one of the youngest finalists of the competition which is held each year in the Highland Council area.

Molly, who attends Resolis Primary on the Black Isle, took on four secondary school pupils in the finals in Inverness.

The competition's runner up was Thurso High School clarinettist Belinda Gordon.

Trombone player Finn Smith, of Grantown Grammar, won the most promising talent award.
