A man's body has been found following a search for a missing hillwalker on Skye.

The operation involved Skye Mountain Rescue Team, RAF Mountain Rescue Team, SARDA team members, Highland and Islands Division Police Dog Section.

They were assisted by RAF helicopter R137 and HM Coastguard helicopter R100.

The man, who was understood to be in his 60s, was reported overdue from a trek by a member of his family on Tuesday evening.

He was walking in the Glen Brittle area at Coire Ghrunnda. Police have said his name will not be released until a formal identification is made.
