Man collapses and dies on Wester Ross munro

A 61-year-old walker has died after collapsing on a munro in Wester Ross.

Emergency services were called to Am Faochagach at about 13:45 on Saturday after receiving a report that the man had collapsed.

Ullapool police, Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team and a coastguard helicopter were sent to the scene.

But the walker, who had two friends with him, died despite attempts to revive him.
