Weather warning for Aberdeenshire, Caithness and isles

Winds gusting to up to 70 mph have been forecast for parts of northern and north east Scotland during Friday.

The Met Office has issued a yellow "be aware" warning for north east Aberdeenshire and also Caithness and Orkney and Shetland.

Forecasters said the "very strong" north westerly winds could disrupt travel.

The weather warning was issued to cover the time from 08:00 until 21:00 on Friday.
