Driver dies in crash on A82 between Spean Bridge and Fort William

A driver has died after a crash involving a car and and pick up vehicle on the A82 in the Highlands.

Emergency services were called to the scene, between Spean Bridge and Fort William in Lochaber, at about 14:40.

Police said the driver of the car suffered serious injuries and died as a result of them.

The driver of the Ford transit pick up was taken to Belford Hospital but was not thought to be seriously injured. The road was closed in both directions.

Local diversions were in place.
