Lewis man Donald MacLeod beats joke-telling record
A Scotsman has broken the record for the most jokes told in an hour.
Donald MacLeod, from Lewis, told 580 gags to beat the 549 record set by Australian comic Anthony Lehmann in 2005.
English comedian and television actor Tim Vine is a previous record holder.
Among Mr MacLeod's record breaking one-liners at Glasgow's Park Bar on Wednesday evening were: "What would the drummer in the Mexican Beatles be called? Gringo Starr".
Speaking ahead of the event, he said all the jokes would be original material and he hoped to tell about one gag every six seconds.
Mr MacLeod, who is head actuary at financial mutual Scottish Friendly, said his favourite joke was: "Where's the best place in South Africa to get a Batman outfit? Cape Town."
His record attempt raised money for charity.
