Forestry Commission's first starter-farm for Highlands

Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS) is to create its first starter-farm in the Highlands.

Woodland and rough grazing at Achnamoine, near Halkirk in Caithness, will be offered on a 10-year lease.

The commission's initiative aims to encourage new entrants into the farming industry.

The FCS has previously launched starter-farms in Fife, Ayrshire, Stirlingshire, Aberdeenshire and Dumfriesshire.
