Police probe teenager's death in Inverness
Police have launched an investigation into the death of a teenager in Inverness.
Lewis William MacPherson, 17, died at a property in the Millburn area of the city on Monday afternoon.
His family said they were devastated by the "untimely loss of such a loving and happy young man".
Police Scotland said it was treating his death as unexplained at this stage. Lewis was a fifth year pupil at Millburn Academy.
The school's rector Gavin MacLean has paid tribute to the teenager.
He said: "Our thoughts and condolences are extended to all of Lewis' family and friends.
"Lewis will be greatly missed by his friends, teachers and by other pupils in the school.
"His cheerful personality and ability to form and sustain strong relationships with his peers were key qualities recognised by others."
Mr MacLean added: "A conscientious worker in school and in his part-time employment, Lewis favoured technical, hands on subjects - he was aiming to pursue an electrical apprenticeship when he moved on from Millburn Academy."
