Vandals target Inverness' Northern Meeting Park

Vandals have caused substantial damage to the grandstand in Inverness' historic Northern Meeting Park.

Police said railings at the Highland Council-owned park have also been vandalised.

The damage and graffiti was thought to have been done on various occasions between 20 October and 24 November.

Opened in 1864, the park has links to gatherings held in the late 1700s in an attempt to reconcile rifts caused by the Jacobite Rising of 1745.
