Highland Council delays cut in 15 teaching posts

Highland Council has deferred by a year a plan to cut 15 secondary school teacher posts.

The jobs were to go over two years starting next year.

The local authority announced the delay at a briefing held ahead of a meeting of the full council on Thursday when a range of savings will be debated.

Highland Council is trying to find savings of £55m over the next five years. Councillors will meet in Inverness to discuss planned cuts.
