Man badly injured after Glen Torridon avalanche

A man was badly injured after an avalanche in the Highlands.

A mountain rescue was launched after reports of the 47-year-old man being hurt in the Liathach area of Glen Torridon.

Coastguard and RAF helicopters joined Torridon Mountain Rescue Team in the operation on Monday.

He was found and taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness with what Police Scotland described as "serious but not life-threatening" injuries.
