Man who died after Inverness lorry collision will not be named

A pedestrian who died after a collision involving a recycling lorry in Inverness was aged 56, police have said.

The incident happened on Bridge Street, near the junction with Castle Wynd, at about 07:35 on 31 December and led to the cancellation of a Hogmanay event.

Police Scotland said the man's family had asked that the force did not release his name to the public.

Following the incident, police had said the man was 50 years old.
