Thief admits to sixth break-in in Inverness

A thief jailed for stealing or attempting to steal from five women in Inverness has admitted breaking into another woman's home.

Peter MacMillan, 41, described as a prisoner at Low Moss in Bishopbriggs, was sentenced to three years in July.

He broke into homes in the Dalneigh area of Inverness in May and June.

Inverness Sheriff Court has heard that DNA at another home in Dalneigh matched MacMillan's. He has been jailed for 20 months for that offence.

MacMillan pleaded guilty to breaking into the 86-year-old woman's home around the same time as the other offences.

His other victims were aged between 62 and 80. He stole money, gift vouchers and jewellery.
