MSPs questioning NHS Highland on its finances

MSPs have been questioning senior figures at NHS Highland about the health board's finances.

The Scottish Parliament's public audit committee has been meeting with the health board's bosses in Inverness.

During a meeting of the committee in November, MSPs were highly critical of NHS Highland's senior management handling of its then £12m deficit.

At the time, the health board's chairman Garry Coutts said the criticism was "disappointing".

MSP Hugh Henry had accused NHS Highland senior management of treating health board members "like mushrooms by keeping them in the dark" on some financial matters.

MSP Mary Scanlon was also critical.
