Preparations for a major cycling event in the Highlands are going up a gear.

Organisers of Etape Loch Ness have agreed a series of road closures with the authorities and emergency services for the event on 26 April.

Leaflets giving details on the times when the A82 and other roads will be shut are being distributed to businesses in the area.

A second leaflet drop, this time to homes on the routes, will follow in the first week of April.

Thousands of cyclists are expected to take part in the 66-mile (106km) event.

The first Etape Loch Ness was held in May last year.
