Norovirus affects Belford Hospital and Thurso care home

Cases of sickness and diarrhoea have closed a care home in Thurso to new admissions and restricted visits to Belford Hospital in Fort William.

The hospital was recently closed to new admissions because of norovirus.

NHS Highland has now restricted visits to patients after concerns the virus could be brought back on to the wards.

Sixteen staff and 14 residents at the NHS Highland's Bayview House Care Home in Thurso have been unwell. Two of the people have been affected by norovirus.
