Vote rejects Black Isle community wind farm plan
The result of a postal vote on the Black Isle in the Highlands has rejected plans for a community wind farm.
Black Isle Community Energy, the group behind the plans, wanted to put up three turbines in Millbuie Forest near Mount Eagle.
The company said money raised from the project could help pay for the building of a swimming pool in Fortrose.
Opponents said the farm would be a blight on the landscape.
Organisers of the ballot said 57% of the eligible electorate voted with 46% in favour, below the target figure needed for the project to go ahead.
