Firefighters tackling gorse fire near Inverness
Firefighters have been called to a gorse fire in Daviot Wood near Inverness.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 15:34 and an appliance from Inverness was sent to the scene.
The crew has been using knapsack sprayers and fire beaters to tackle the fire, which covers a 50m by 50m area.
The woods just to the south of the city have been the scene of major gorse fires in recent years.
Smoke from the wildfire was visible from the centre of Inverness.
The incident has come during a spell of dry warm weather. Temperatures in Inverness reached 20C on Wednesday.
