Highland Council has scrapped some of its newly-introduced increases in parking charges in Inverness after public opposition to the prices.

The local authority said it had now "substantially reduced" fees at its Rose Street multi-storey car park, one of the largest in the city.

Parking at the site for more than 24 hours has been cut from £15 to £7.

Highland Council said it had listened to the public. Councillors were also worried people would park elsewhere.
