Councillors to consider planned Aberarder Wind Farm

Highland councillors are to consider plans for a 12-turbine wind farm.

Developer RES has proposed constructing its Aberarder Wind Farm on hills near Inverarnie and Farr, about 12 miles (20km) south of Inverness.

The site is near the 33-turbine Dunmaglass Wind Farm being developed by SSE, but is not within areas designated as important for natural heritage.

Strathnairn and Strathdearn community councils have objected to RES' proposals.

The two groups have raised concerns about the proposed wind farm's visual impact.

Highland Council's south planning applications committee will be asked for its views on the project at a meeting next week.
