Witness appeal over possible 'assault' near Inchmore

Police have appealed for witnesses after responding to an incident on the A862 near Inchmore in the Highlands.

A member of the public reported seeing a man and woman arguing beside a white transit-type van on the road between Inverness and Beauly at about 13:40.

Police Scotland said they were concerned for the welfare of the woman who may have been assaulted.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident has been urged to come forward.

The woman was described as tall, about 6ft, with brown hair, wearing dark clothing and Jodhpur-style trousers.

The man was shorter, about 5ft 10ins, heavy build and wearing a black baseball cap.
