The final avalanche hazard forecasts for Scotland's mountains were issued at the weekend.

Sportscotland Avalanche Information Service (SAIS) usually winds up its forecasts for six areas in mid-April.

However, because of continued snowfalls and cold temperatures, weekend reports were issued for Lochaber and the Northern Cairngorms.

Other areas covered by SAIS are Southern Cairngorms, Torridon, Glen Coe and Creag Meagaidh.

There is still snow cover on the highest of Scotland's mountains, including Ben Nevis, Cairn Gorm and Ben Macdui.
