Tribute to Australian woman who died in Skye accident
A 21-year-old woman who died after being hit by a car on Skye on Monday has been named by police as Maddie Rice.
Ms Rice was from Australia and working at the Kinloch Lodge Hotel in Sleat on the island.
She was struck by the car on the A87 near the Sligachan Hotel at Sligachan at about 01:15 on Monday.
The owners and staff of the Kinloch Lodge Hotel have paid tribute to Ms Rice, describing her as a "beautiful person".
In the tribute, they said they had "lost a very special member of our team".
It went on: "We are all utterly devastated at the loss of Maddie. She was devoted to her wonderful partner, Joe, and our thoughts, love and prayers go to him and her family.
"Maddie was a beautiful person and she will be missed be everyone whose life she touched."
