Up to 40 gravestones have been deliberately damaged at a cemetery in Inverness, police have said.

The stones at Tomhnahurich were pushed over and, in some cases, damaged by fire.

The cemetery dates from the 1860s and includes the graves of Commonwealth servicemen during wars.

Police Scotland said several thousands of pounds of damage had been caused at the site over the last two weeks.
