Man found in sea next to dinghy off Fortrose dies

A man found in the sea next to a dinghy near the shoreline at Fortrose on Monday morning has died in hospital in Inverness.

RNLI Kessock was alerted at 08:46 and went to the aid of Peter Jones, 73, who was wearing a lifejacket and found in shallow water.

He was given first aid before he was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital by a coastguard helicopter.

Police Scotland said Mr Jones was from Fortrose.
