Five injured in two-car crash on A9 near Latheronwheel

Two women have been receiving treatment at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness following a crash involving two cars on the A9 in Caithness.

The collision happened near Latheronwheel at about 12:00 on Sunday.

The women were airlifted to hospital. Police Scotland said their injuries were not thought to be life threatening.

Three men were also injured and were taken to Caithness General Hospital in Wick for treatment to cuts and bruises.

They were later released from hospital.

Police said a man in his 30s has been reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with the crash.
