New appeal after serious crash at Lochmaddy on North Uist

Police have made a new appeal for information about a crash on North Uist that has left a man in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

The accident happened at about 21:30 on Monday at the north entrance to Lochmaddy.

The man, who is in his 30s, was flown to hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

He was the sole occupant of the crashed Volkswagen Passat and no other vehicle was involved. The road at the scene was fully reopened at 20:30 on Tuesday.

Police Scotland said officers were continuing their inquiries into the incident and asked that anyone with information about the crash to get in touch.
