'Weapon used' in serious assault in Inverness

A man has suffered injuries to his head and body in a serious assault in Inverness on Friday.

Police said it was believed a weapon was used during a disturbance on the city's Laurel Avenue.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident at about 01:30.

Police Scotland said the man's injuries were not life threatening. The force has appealed for information about the assault.
