The theft of bikes worth thousands of pounds from places in Argyll and the Highlands could be linked, police have said.

A Trek Remedy 8 mountain bike was taken from near Lochaber Leisure Centre in Fort William on Monday afternoon.

Police Scotland said the theft had followed reports of bikes being stolen in Oban and Crianlarich in Argyll.

It said it was possible the thefts were linked and urged cyclists to take precautions against thieves.
